wireless connection is good but not great....what can i check before I call ATT?

We have ATT. Our main computer (desktop) has the modem on it. I have a lap top that uses the internet connection also. Until now, it has had excellent strength (four bars). Now it is down to good strength which is 3 bars. It never goes back up and YES I do notice a difference.

I hate calling tech support. So before I do, what can i check or do to see if it helps.
