| i am going to try to get a plan soon from cingular.. and the cheapest is 39.99 a month, for just one person--so is that good or bad deal. I really want the blackjack--so how much does that cost--plus do you get a rebate. Also my friend said they might give me that phone for free, since i am a brand new customer??? i am only 16, so do i need my dad to help me get a contract, or can my friends mother do it, because my dad doesnt understand anything about phones, and i want my friends mom to help me out. |

| I have the $39.99/month plan, and it works fine for me. I use about 300-350 minutes, and the rest are carried over to the next month, so I currently have 700 extra minutes. It's great for when there is a family emergency, or if you need to make a lot of calls during the day. If you will constantly be on your cell phone (I'm not), you may want to choose a larger plan. Keep in mind, though, that you can upgrade your plan online at any time if you feel that you need to change it. The Blackjack is selling for $74.99 ($174.99-$100 mail-in rebate debit card) right now, with a 2-year contract. Unfortunately, I don't know if you have to be 18 or not... you might have to have your dad sign the contract, and maybe he can authorize you to make any changes if you need to. I don't know if having your friend's mom help you would be a good idea... are you planning to pay the bill? If someone has to put you under their name, your payment or non-payment will influence their credit. You might want to stick with having your dad do it. Your friend's mom can always go with you, and give you advice, though. It's always nice to have someone go along who knows about that kind of stuff! :-) I love my plan with Cingular... I hope you do, too! Good luck! |
