| Hi! My friend got one of those laptops from schools that the government handed out a while back and he got his broadband dongle with it. It was a 3 mobile dongle and his brothers was o2. His brothers one was activated fine when they phoned up, but his 3 one hasn't. They said it will be up to 10 days, and it's now been months. He's not really been bothered about it because he just used his brothers laptop, but now his brother has done what brothers do and said he can't go on it. (It's quite funny actually...) Anyway... So he's waited for months and it's still not working. When I try to connect via the dongle it just says that the connection failed, make sure your settings are correct, retry? Then obviously gives you a yes option and a no option. It has signal, the sim card is in there, and I believe the number is right, but he's not here right now I just said i'd take a look at it for him, and he's now at school. By the way, this is NOT a school assignment, I don't know why Lori said it was! |

| Mobile Broadband is a subscription service, meaning a carrier has to activate the service. Which carrier has been subscribed? CALL them they have to allow the laptop to connect. From your side, there is nothing you can do to authorize the system. Call the carrier. |
