Is Tracfone or T-Mobile the better prepaid wireless service?

I am asking which service is better strictly based on overall reception quality, customer service, and phone quality.

I do not text, and want to just 'carry' a cel phone while I am out (not necessarily use it all the time) and I am sick of having multiple year contracts for cel-phones!

I have narrowed it to just these two for my needs (I looked at Virgin Mobile, their plans do not really suit me). Their best options both work out to roughly 140 for about the same amount of minutes plus the phone (800 minutes + phone for Tracfone, 1000 + minutes for T-Mobile). Tracfone offers even cheaper deals with refurbed phones, but I'm wary of refurbed phones.

Anyone with experience with either of these two services, your answer is appreciated!
