New US Cellular User. Help with info about plans and phones!?

I'm planning on getting added to my Dad's phone plan. I will make his Single plan a Family Plan. We will be having the National Family Plan, with 700 Anytime Minuets, Unlimited INcoming Calls, Unlimited Mobile to Mobile, and Unlimited Txt.
Us Cellular has ZERO phones that I like, BUT they are getting in the new LG Tritan, which I LOVE and really wanna get. But from all of the reviews I could find on it, everyone is saying that I will HAVE to have some sort of Data Plan. Adding a data plan is not an option for me, I have to help pay for my extra line, and I cant afford any more than what I already have.
So the question is:

Is there ANY way I can get this phone WITHOUT Internet?
I'm getting it because of they Keyboard, I dont want internet on the phone, because I dont need it; I only need texting.
I know people have gotten cracked phones from other providers and used them with theirs and were still able to talk and text, which is all I wanna do (and use the camera touch screen) is it possible to get the phone from alltel cracked and then just have them activate it?
It seems pointless adn stpid to me that you should be able to just NOT activate the internet for the phone.
one of my friends has a black berry and no internet on it, because he didnt WANT internet on it.

Please tell me if this is at all possible in ANY way.
and if so, please tell me, this is my 1st phone, but im cellphone-illiterate. But any help would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
The phone is just starting to be released, so I'll be starting my plan with my dad in a few days or whenever they release the phone. So i need to know ASAP so that If i have to order another phone, then I have time to.
