The best by far is the mts my five plan. pick that with a 20 dollar plan and that's one of the best arround.

If you are a student, and have a student I.D card, you can change my five to my ten for free.

Go with Verizon.
They have a lot better phones, and much cheaper/better overall plans..

I can't tell you exactly what plan to choose, because I'm not sure exactly what all you're interested in. Also, sometimes plans vary according to your location.
I can give you a general idea of some good plans to go with, however.

First of all, unless you're absolutely sure you want to stay with Verizon (NYSE: VZ) for more than 2 years, then don't get the 2-year contract phones, as you might change your mind and be interested in going to a different provider.

I recommend going with a basic Voice plan, then adding features based on what you can afford, and what exactly you want.
You can always add data access packs, as well as text messaging, etc.

If you ask me, the best plan verizon offers for someone like ME, is the plan with 900 minutes, for one person.

This plan costs 59.00/month, plus taxes. The bill will end up being nearly 70. This covers features like voicemail, caller-id, call-waiting, etc. Text messages are 10 cents each.

If this plan is too expensive, you can downgrade to 450 minutes a month, for 40.00/month. Your bill won't pass 50/month so long as you don't add too many extra features or run up your bill doing other things. The features listed in the plan details above are also available for this one.

verizon is the best and if u don't think u'll use it much get the lowest plan. u can change it for free if u want to.
they have u sign up for a 2 yr plan but there should be a 1 yr, they just don't want to tell u.
often they have a free phone, or free aft rebate w/2 yr plan.

if u'r credit isn't great cingullar is next, just changed to at&t, they have prepd cards in $15,20, 50 and 100.
