Tracphone instead of Verizon for a "family" of two who mostly only use cell...

...phones for short quick phone calls What do you think?

I add it up this way:

$60-70 a month for Verizon.

$20-50 a month for Tracphone.

Pretty straight forward---right?

Nope. with prepaids, like tracphone, you don't get nearly as many minutes and short quick calls add up. Also you do'nt have national flexibility so those minutes they give you will not apply if you're out of your area. Also you're looking at a much smaller coverage area (that's the general rule with prepaids, though I might be wrong on tracphone). I usually only recomment prepaids if you need a phone just for emergencies and you're leaving it in your car or if you don't have good credit and can't get a plan or if you don't want a contract because you just need a phone temporarily.
