will international phone cards work with verizon cell phones while taveling?

see if you are capable of using the dual mode
go to a local store and have it inspected.

You can get a cheap quad band unlocked GSM phone and use a local prepaid SIM card with it, and then use a calling card. That way, you are not charged for international roaming, which is usually very expensive.
