Alrigt so my dad tells me he cancelled my cell phone service after i got grounded. But i call my phone number and it still goes straight to my voicemail. Does this mean he really didnt cancel service? Because i seem to remember before when i tried to call a cancelled phone it went to some machine.

Does he have your phone? Your phone is just off. If its YOUR voice mail its not cancelled.

Cancelling service costs 175$. Your dad probably just took your phone and turned it off. It's probably cheaper that way.

You can cancel it two ways.

My girlfriend/ ex girlfriend (not sure cuz we still have feelings) took my phone. I went to cancel my phone and they gave the option of cancelling for good and it'll cost $175 to cancel it permanately. Then there was an option to cancel it but still pay for the services and I can cut it back on when I get it back. So I temporarily canceled it and it went to a machine. Also I canceled my sister's phone permanately one time when she got her own plan and moved away. That goes to a machine too. So I'm sure your dad just took it and turned it off. Chances are you'll get it back. But seriously, listen to your dad. Just take the punishment until you get it back.
