Default Why are Verizon cell phones cheaper at Wal-Mart than at the local Verizon dealers?

Is it just because it's Wal-Mart and can sell pretty much everything cheaper? Are they refurbished or pre-owned phones? Is there any difference?

They are not refurbs. Everything is cheaper at walmart. Part of the reason is that a lot of independent retailers have a different contracts so that you cant have the 30 day worry free guarantee, or that there is the possibility of more sign-up fees or cancellation fees. It just depends.
