phone to replace your old one?
So, say online, when there are offers that are like free phones, which are originally 100 or 200 dollars, I'd have to pay that instead of getting it free?

You can buy a new phone anytime you want during your 2 year contract it's just that you won't get special contract pricing on the phone (new every two, etc.). You'll generally pay full price but once in a while they'll have something on sale. And even if you buy a new phone during your initial 2 year contract from Verizon (NYSE: VZ) or a 3rd party, it will not extend your contract. And at the end of your contract you don't have to renew it, it will keep the same plan. If you do get a phone after your contract expiration date through Verizon and agree to the contract for special phone pricing, it extends the date 2 more years from the original expiration date. I did this with my mothers phone for Christmas. Her contract expired in August, got the new phone at a special price & agreed to the contract renewal and it back dated it to August. )

Now if you want a new phone and you find one on eBay you can buy it. Once you buy it, to save on the connection fee (generally $25 when you call them to do this process) you can go online (if you have set up an account online, if not it's easy & free), click on "my phone" once you've logged in, then click on the link "activate a phone" which is towards the right hand side and down just a bit, then under "existing or replacement equipment" click "activate equipment" and follow the rest of the prompts.

You can also sign up for the "back up assistant" which will back up all your contacts on your phone. It shows on the phone & online that it is $1.99 a month but if you have your account online and check it periodically it is free! I have this for the 3 lines on my bill and it's great especially if you get a new phone, you don't have to reenter all the numbers just download it back to your phone from the Verizon storage site. It's great, and again it's free if you check your online account periodically.

Best of luck to you!

Yes you will have to pay retail. You can buy an Verizon (NYSE: VZ) phone noncontract and add to your account anytime.

If you are on a plan $49.99 or higher Verizon will discount the phone after one year.

You can buy a new phone at anytime..However you will not be able to get the phone at the discount price you'd be paying the full retail price for the phone. Which can be very expensive. Sometimes your able to upgrade your current contract before the 2 year mark and get a phn at a discount price but your signing another contract..Hope I helped

No, you can replace the phone. Most service providers require that your contract changes with each new phone, so the two-year requirement begins with the activation of the new phone.

No, you can change phones as often as you like. Two year contract just means that you have to stay with Verizon, and if you choose to break your contract you will have to pay a penalty. Probably about $200.

generally when you sign up for a plan you have to stick with your phone. They will charge you the full price for the phone if you already have a contract.
