Default Can I purchase a pay-as-you-go cell plan, with an out of contract Verizon phone?

I have a Motorola (NYSE: MOT) Razor from Verizon. I am no longer in a contract with them. Can i purchase a pay as you go plan from somewhere else, and still use my phpne? Is it compatable? I dont want to buy another phone. Thanks!
