Default Upgrading my Verizon cell phone before my contract expires?

OK so I have a LG VX8300 and I don't want it anymore and I'm looking into buying a new phone. I have a family share plan with my parents and my sibling. I wanted to know how much I would have to pay to get a new phone before my upgrade, full retail price? or what? Also, would I have to pay a cancellation fee and then an activation fee when I got the new phone?
