verizon samsung alias cell phone?

I'm looking into buying a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) samsung alias cell phone for my prepaid verizon account, and i've heard that these phones use sim cards instead of MEID numbers. Are these phones able to be used on a prepaid verizon account?
