Hey Wahoo,

Let's see if this helps.

Phones:
If you like having that full qwerty keyboard like the Wild Card has, then your choices would be between the X-tc or the Rumor 2. Both have the same cool features - Stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD slot for sideloading music and photos, web browsing (Opera Mini supported on both which is cool), and a 1.3MP camera. X-tc has a bigger external screen, but no external number keys which makes dialing a number a little more awkward, but you get used to it. The Rumor 2 also supports GPS Navigation with audible turn by turn directions, and has an external number keypad for dialing without opening the phone. It does have a smaller screen.

I have used both and I prefer the Rumor 2. I find using the Rumor 2 a bit more intuitive and user friendly, but the X-tc was a good, fun phone.

Plans:

Based on your frequent texting, and not so frequent talking, I think one of the 2 Virgin Mobile (NYSE: VM) Texter's Delight Plans is right up your alley. Here's what they offer:
  • $15 a month gives you 1000 messages (includes text, picture messages, IM's and emails) and minutes are just 10 cents each.
  • $20 a month gives you UNLIMITED messaging (includes text, picture messages, IM's and emails) and minutes are just 10 cents each.
We have other plans if your usage changes, and you can switch plans anytime you want with no penalties.

I hope this helps!
