with a virgin mobile phone....?

i have a tracfone and i was thinking about going to virgin mobile because they have better phones but...
if i want texting and calling on a pay as you go plan do i have to buy two cards one for texting one for calling....
shoudl i just stay with tracfone....
which is better in your opinion?
