How do i convince my parents to get me a cell phone?

i am very responsible. Im 13 in 8th grade and im in 3 school sports so i am always staying after school and when practice get canceled i cant call to get picked up! i once got cut reallybad after school and she was late (practice ended at 4 and she always picks me up around 5 30 because of work) i got cut really bad and when she got me we rushed to get stitches and i had to be in bedrest for a week cuz i lost so much blood. and i couldnt even call her!

That's a pretty good reason right there! LOL, tell them about all of the school shootings, and how you wouldn't be able to call anyone or let them know that you're okay because you dont' have a phone!

I just graduated from 8th grade and got a phone for graduation. If your parents are like mine, there is no way you can convince them, so just be patient. They will probably get you a phone for high school.

You need to have a sit down talk with your parents, show them how responsive you can be.You can get brochures from alot of places, try getting a Virgin Mobil prepaid cell phones, yes you have to get a card, but its free weekends.Just tell your parents the truth that you need a cell for emergiencies.

Point out all the positives for them. Like: With the new GPS phones, they can track your every move and will always be able to tell if you really went to the movies or not. Or, they can call you anytime they want, and embarrass you in front of all your friends when they keep "checking up on you". That should do the trick.

That's a very good reason right there. Just tell them that a cell phone would really be beneficial. If your parents are reasonable at all, that one incident is enough to qualify.

The idea here is to start with a cell phone plan that is very low-risk, so you can prove how responsible you are. Tell them to get a prepaid mobile phone (Net10 or T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) To-Go seems good) and fill it up with only a limited number of minutes. That way, you will not incur any extra charges.

Aside from that - good luck. Hope your parents will get you something. Whatever you do, don't ask for anything expensive. If you're going to use it for the reasons you state, you should get one of those cheap phones that seem to be indestructible and have an infinite battery life.

my parents wouldn't get me a cell phone so i got one myself. get pay as u go. I have net 10 and u can get a phone at walmart or target for like $30 and it comes with 300 minutes.

Hey Brain,
Maybe you could tell your 'rents a story about a girl that got kidnapped and called her mom and was safe. You could say,"Mom if I got lost and couln't find you I would be soooooo scared, mom, please." I don't have a cell either. but I really want one! I need help no matter what I do she says no.
