why cant i text to america using vodafone but i can with orange?

I'd guess it's either a service limitation for Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) i.e. they don't allow international text messages, or it's because you're pay as you go.

I'd call them to ask if it's something you can do.

cause Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) dont allow you to do alot with thier phones. I can check my yahoo emails etc with o2, orange and 3, but not with voda. there is so little capability with voda even though they have that brilliant stop the clock price plan.

see if orange use a dual or quad band function as standard for PAYG customers. Also check your phone is tri or quad band

Skodafone probably don't allow international text messages unless you buy some sort of add on to your talk plan I would think.
