Default Can I get out of my vodafone contract early?

I have 2 months left on my current Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) contract and i'm desperate to get out of it.
Is it possible to downgrade to the lowest tariff eg £20 p/m and pay Vodafone £40 to settle my contract and cancel?
I just want to be sure as I don't want Vodafone saying I owe them anything or come back with any clauses.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Doubt it. You contracted to it and they will expect you to fulfil the term. Make sure you give them early notice to terminate to avoid going more than two months.

some high street dealers will pay your remaining contract if you take out a new one.
