Cancelling Vodafone Contract Early?

So, I have a dilemma. Last January I signed an 18 month contract with Vodafone. They then called me and convinced me to upgrade to a 24 month contract. (I didn't actally sign anything). Basically, in September, which is when my 18 month contract would have ended, I am going to study abroad for a year, thus do not want to be paying the £30 a month when I won't be able to use my phone without extra charges! So, is there any way of getting out of it without paying the line rental? Thanks.

unfortunately you will have to get on the customer service line and complain and complain and explain your situation. Regarless of whether you did upgraded over the phone or not it is still a legal and binding contract. You did was is called electronic signature by giving them your information. To break the contract you might have to pay the termination fee. Sorry

This company has ties in most all countries, so more than likely you can work out a plan with them. Many companies now have extemely low rates plans even for out of country calls due to military personnel needs. In the US they are verizon. Your company offers Global service for traveling.
