Default also having problems with WT2008

I had it loaded on my HP iPaq and worked fine for a few weeks. But now it wouldn't load anymore. I reset my PDA and now it won't reboot at all. I don't know if it's related to the watchtower library. Now I've got to figure out how to get my PDA working again.

I picked up an HTC Cruise 2 (T4242) yesterday with WM 6.1 , having same problem. Glad it's not just me...lol... Sorry brothers

I tried installing on the device when it recommends so, that didn't work; I also tried installing and selecting "no" when it recommended not using the SD card, no joy.

Anyone else actually get this working? I had big plans for this!

I figured it out! So anyone that is having the same issue and runs across this thread can send a thank you card to brother Magers at Central congregation in Vancouver, Washington after thanking our wonderful brothers in Bethel for such a wonderful tool to help us ~

The readme on the disc was the clue.

You need to load the SD card as an additional drive in your system, so I went up to Wally World and bought a 4gb Sandisk MicroSD card with adapter for $20.88.

Simple steps here just in case we have any brothers or sisters who might have troubles:

*If you do not use a MicroSD card and only use a SD Card, skip to step 2*

1) Insert MicroSD card into MicroSD adapter.

2) Insert adapter into SD to USB adapter (available at Wally World or Tar-zhay (Target) for $5).

3) Insert said apapter into USB slot on computer.

4) Insert Watchtower Library 2008 into disc drive and close drive, when autorun starts, select "Install Watchtower Library for PDA"

5) After selecting "Next" twice I believe, you should get a screen with multiple drive letters, select the drive with the SD Adapter 5000 thingamuhjig, then install.

6) After install is complete, remove said thingamuhjig and then remove the MicroSD card and place into your device.

7) Using file explorer, navigate to the Watchtower directory on your SD or MicroSD card, keep going down the tree until you find "wtlibrary", click on it and install. Select "Yes" when prompted to install to device if you are able.

8) I still got the lame error message, but it DID install and is working from Start>Programs>Watchtower Library 2008

You need to make sure the version of Windows Moble is correct. There are 2 versions of Windows Mobile. One for PDA and one for smartphones. It will only for on the older version 3.0 for pocket pc's. If you have the sersion for smart phones, it will not work.

If someone has found a crake or another way to get it to work, please let me know.

He is using the xv6800, by definition that is Windows Mobile 5 or 6, Pocket PC as it has a touch screen... Directions from our brothers state that it should be used on touch screens only, therefore the only people trying to install it would be Pocket PC users. So, he has Pocket PC.

I am running WM6.1, got it working great, so it can be installed on WM6.1 (Pocket PC).

Hope this clarifies things

Default It worked

Hello, I was having the same problem. The program did not find my WM6.1 PDA in the list. So I had the program install it on the hard drive and I manually pasted it into the storage card on my computer. That did not work. I then removed the MicroSD card from my device and put it into my SD card reader on the computer. I ran the program again and this time it recognized the Drive letter that the MicroSD card was on. I installed it onto card, removed the card from the SD reader and put it into my PDA. Opened the folders as directed in the instructions, clicked on the .exe file and it installed with no problems. Getting back to the way I originally installed it, I think I would have worked if I had copied the file to the root of the SD card (I put it into an APPS folder I created for my PDA apps in the storage card). I can't say that it will work that way as I have not tested it, but looking at how the program installed it onto the card, I feel confident in saying that it would have worked had I pasted into the root instead of a folder.

Nevertheless, thanks for the help brothers!!

Excellent! Great to hear. I have been getting some wonderful use out of it already using it for conducting field service meetings, findings answers in car groups, and finding things right before return visits (you know, when you're trying to think of that perfect scripture and no one in the group can remember it).

Big thanks to our brothers in Bethel. We have one of the anointed coming to our hall for a rededication soon, I am going to be sure to send our thanks back to New York with him for the wonderful tool (and so many other things too.)
